About Helsinki Contemporary Theatre Company

Helsinki Contemporary Theatre Company was founded in 2024.

Our work spans professional productions, new writing, actor development, workshops and collaborative projects. Alongside staging contemporary plays and revivals, we are committed to creating opportunities for actors and theatre-makers at different stages of their careers, providing a platform for both emerging voices and established talent.

Through our workshops and Actors’ Showcases, we bring performers together to explore their craft, develop original material and share their work with audiences. We believe that artistic communities grow stronger when people are given the space and encouragement to create.

We are equally committed to developing new writing and establishing international partnerships that allow stories to travel beyond the places in which they begin. From Helsinki to London and further afield, we want to contribute to a theatre landscape that is curious, collaborative and unafraid to cross borders.
